Tasting Notes:

Typical aromas of plum and white pepper on the bouquet. The wine announces itself gently, with softly rounded and juicy red and black fruits. Spice too. This wine is about texture: satin smooth yet velvety and cosseting. Pliable and supple but with a notable core holding it firm. Although a subtle cedar flavour is apparent, it doesnt overwhelm, just knits harmoniously. Elegant and refined but approachable, it lingers long.

This wine was produced from grapes from our Riebeeksrivier farm in the Swartland, which is situated on the slopes of the Riebeek Kasteel Mountains on the Malmesbury side.   Our vineyards were planted on the Southern and Western slopes of these mountains. This particular wine is from the Southern slopes where there is more Clay in the soil mixed with Malmesbury shale. The combination of slope and soil culminates into this deeper and richer style red blend.

This wine is a blend which consists mostly of Shiraz, and other varietals from this slope includes Grenache and Carignan. These vineyards produce a small bunch with concentrated flavours and delicate ,yet firm structure. These grapes are hand- sorted and fermented.
